Why We Foster
Several people have asked us, "Why do you want to do foster care?" It is a common question. And I think every foster parent has their own answer. We are foster parents because, simply, we can be. I would be lying if I said that we haven't tried to have our own children. Apparently that isn't in the cards for us just yet. We also haven't tried anything drastic yet. We haven't felt that is what we are supposed to do. But, we have felt that we need to be foster parents. Do you know how many children are in foster care right now, versus how many foster homes are available? Also, before you can ask it, we aren't necessarily looking to adopt through foster care. We are open to the idea, and if the right kids come along, we probably will, but right now we just want to give some children a safe place to go.
